Hot Club of Baltimore plays the Assembly Hall with an homage
to Paris in a nostalgic set of music commemorating the passing
of Django Reinhardt.

During the occupation of France and following the victory of World War II, The music of Django Reinhardt led the Parisian jazz scene and provided a much-needed alternative to the conflicts and misery of war. The zazzous "swing-kids" culture flocked to after hours clubs and dance halls where Django played, cheering the band on wildly and dancing late into the evening. Reinhardt's energetic, playful style inspired the spirit of unity and provided a feeling of liberation for audiences during this difficult time. With its core trio of Michael Harris and Sami Arefin on guitars and Eddie Hrybyk on bass -- Ultrafaux, an original Gypsy swing combo -- and a rotating list of some of Baltimore's best jazz artists, Hot Club of Baltimore captures the essence of Paris during the 40's perfect.
