Jeremy Lyons and Lisa Perry return to the War Memorial for a program of music written by composers wearing their cultures on their sleeves. Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Agustin Barrios, and Heitor Villa-Lobos join Robin Holloway and Alfred Hague on this diverse program of works for guitar and voice alone and together.

Guitarist Jeremy Lyons and soprano Lisa Perry formed their duo in 2012. Together they have performed throughout the greater mid-Atlantic region, most recently for the Walters Art Museum’s noontime series and the Joyful Noise concert series of Emmanuel Episcopal, both of Baltimore. Upcoming engagements include two featured concerts with Baltimore’s War Memorial Arts Initiative and an afternoon concert in Leesburg, VA.

As a soloist, Mr. Lyons has been featured with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Classical Guitar Society, the Warminster Symphony, the Wilmington Classical Guitar Society, and will be featured in collaboration with Teatro Lirico in Washington, D.C. this spring.

Having a specialty for modern music, Ms. Perry has been a soloist with D.C.’s Great Noise Ensemble; Baltimore’s SONAR New Music Ensemble; the Thompson Street Opera Company of Lousiville, KY; and was a New Music Fellowship holder at Songfest in Los Angeles, CA. She is a founding member of the LUNAR Ensemble, Baltimore’s premiere New Music chamber ensemble.
