The War Memorial serves as a beautiful and historic venue for a variety of events. The building has two main areas available for rental: the Assembly Hall (with a capacity of 250) and the Memorial Hall (with a capacity of 1,100). The building has, in the past, been rented to be used for filming by HBO and Netflix for the shows, respectively, VEEP and House of Cards. The War Memorial has also been used as a setting for major films such as Ladder 49 as well as And Justice for All. On his 2009 Inaugural Tour, President Barack Obama used the building to give a speech to Baltimore residents.

The War Memorial is available as a picturesque and affordable option for events in the Greater Baltimore area. You can book events by accessing our Web-Based Room Booking System

Please read these Rules and Regulations prior to requesting the venue for your event. Veterans and governmental organizations may book the building free of charge during regular business hours. Otherwise please contact us for a rental fee quote.

The Memorial Hall is a magnificent space ideal for grand events. The hall can accommodate 1,100 people and 600 chairs are available for use on-site. Set-up is the responsibility of the event organizers and no food or drink is permitted in the Memorial Hall. Frequently used for motion picture filming, this hall is a memorial to all veterans of Maryland. The names of the Marylanders who died in World War I are engraved on the marble walls. The largest and most impressive surviving mural of Baltimore artist, R. McGill Mackall, adorns the wall of the west balcony and faces an eternal flame on the opposite side of the hall. Contact us for a rental fee quote.

The Assembly Hall is the smaller of the two halls in the War Memorial. It is ideal for medium-sized events such as meetings, seminars, receptions, ceremonies, and more. It is the only space in the building where you may have food or drink. The space can accommodate 250 people without tables and 180 people with tables. Our staff is available to configure the room to your specifications. Chairs, tables, a projector screen, and a P.A. system are available for use. Contact us for a rental fee quote.
